HAPPY BIRTHDAY ITACHI (RIP) + HAPPY ZEMYX DAY, MINA.

lol anyway now that I've gotten that out of my system, I'm out for the summer. still haven't figured out where I'll be working yet, if I work at all.

one thing I do plan to do this summer is study up on hypnotism (youtube it).

I found some hypnotic video on a forum a couple of weeks ago, and it really fascinated me - trances and the molding of the subconscious. tomorrow I plan to head over to borders to rummage through the psychology section again, and put in an order for hypnotherapy by dave elman.

by the way, if you've noticed my absence from the artistic community in the past months, I have a confession to make.

I've been an icon fiend.

I've been so dead on here.

I had a good two weeks way back at the end of april, but I've fallen off a cliff again. I haven't been drawing.

the better news is I've only got to survive this week and then finals, and I'm out for vacation. though I'm not sure if that's a particularly positive thing. my mom's been haggling me about getting a summer job.

I asked my friend brian to talk to one of his uncles that runs a snack shack on the beach. he's been working there. if they do end up needing an extra pair of hands, I might help out. I could use some money, anyway.

I've never been a fan of summer - I'm a winter person. though I do enjoy the beach, living on a coastal city and all. we're only five minutes away from it.

more than anything I'm looking forward to spending time with ~TaffytoSaku.

anyway. just an late-night update to show you I'm alive. by the way, if you're inquiring about the title of this journal...

today I stumbled upon a manga called "Uzumaki." now, I'm not one to scare easily, nor am I one to like horror manga, but goddamn, that manga is intense. I was chilled to the fucking bone, man. I definitely recommend it. it's available over at onemanga [link]

geez. almost a month and a half without an update or a submission, and I have no excuse for it. hell, not like I've been busy. more on the end of being too critical of myself to finish a sketch.

however I'm just about to begin linearting something as we speak, so hey. there's something.

only five weeks until I get out for the summer, too. and you know what that means. long days with nothing better to do than sip Dunkin Donuts coffee and work on whatever I'm motivated to finish.

... I think I'm addicted to that place, like everyone else around here. hell there's three per street nowadays lol. I go there every day after school to get an iced latte or coffee with a bagel. the employees are probably familiar with me.

where do you guys enjoy getting a bite to eat?

by the way, does anyone have any knowledge of brush settings in Photoshop? I haven't been using it to CG as of recently because I can't get the brushes to stop skipping and stay steady.

Anime Boston + a question and update

What a slow week.

We had a half-day on Wednesday for god knows why, and then yesterday I was dismissed early because of a pretty awful anxiety attack. I chilled out and read some graphic novels.

The entirety of my manga collection arrived last Saturday, as well as the computer I had in Florida. I'm on it as we speak, and I keep forgetting that it won't crash if I have too much stuff open, lol. It took me hours to put my book shelves up and organize everything, but I got it done.

I'm planning on donating about 50 books to the library, though I wish I could have shipped them out to any of you guys that would want them. My parents don't exactly know I'm on here socializing, and don't know I have online friends.

Mom's the type that would think all of the people I met online were rapists. She's not very open-minded, though someday I hope to come to terms with her. Every three months when I have to use her credit card to renew my subscription I'm like, "oh yeah lol. um can I subscribe to this art site? I don't talk to anyone I don't know. I promise. "

What're all of your parents like?

Oh, and on a different note, will anybody be attending Anime Boston 2008?

I might go. It's an easy commute into the city, though gosh. Anime conventions are so expensive - the fee for the tickets just to get in especially! And all of the goodies in the dealers room are irresistible to any fan, of course.

The only previous con experience I have was with Anime Convention Orlando back in '05. It was small, though I met some awesome people.

Anyway, will probably update if I do end up going. I look forward to meeting fellow deviants.}

what to say, what to say...

It's been a pretty slow week, and a lazy weekend. I've been chilling on the couch for two days watching Discovery Health, lol.

and I just kind of realized that I had a hell of a lot of weekend homework. It's like, I get home on Friday, drop all of my books and schoolwork down on a chair in the dining room, and completely forget about them until Sunday night.

haha. more to cram into study hall, I suppose.

We had the oddest weather phenomena today. It started thundering, and at the same time, it was snowing. And damn, did it come down hard for a couple of minutes before tapering off.

I swore we were going to lose our power by the way the wind was whipping the lines outside.

Art-wise, I'm still not all that active.

My art has been incredibly one-dimensional. I always have trouble with the neck and shoulders, and having the chest and arms connect to them in a way that doesn't look awkward.

So poses are troublesome, lol.

Oh, and by deviant request, I'd like to direct you guys to two clubs if you're interested. If anyone else would like a quick advertisement of a club you're a member of in the future, you can go ahead and note me. I'll happily place them in here.}
